Mix your management teams – keep your powder dry and your fire burning

By Jeppe Rimmen, Senior Consultant, People & Performance A/S

The mixing and development of the management team may be the decisive factor that makes your company stand out from its competitors. A management team is a group of strong individuals and it will have a negative impact on the entire organisation if the team is not mixed in the right way or if it has not shared out tasks and roles appropriately. If it is not done properly the team will often spend a disproportionate amount of time on internal matters rather than on the key elements that will help implement the strategy.

Harmony and high performance
High-performing management teams show a balance between the personalities represented in the team. Team members know their roles, and roles have been shared out so that they match the personality of each individual. The team has common values that are the anchor point of all its activities. Last, but not least, all team members know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Get the right mix of personalities, and you will have harmony, productivity and stability.
