Assessment of Talents

Talent development starts before you employ the candidate

By Niels Prehn, CCO, People & Performance A/S

You have to think carefully when it comes to ensuring the future growth and development of your company. Talent development programmes have to be planned and used in your employer brand so that you can attract the right candidates. But the management team must also be clear about the type of skills they want.

Separate the wheat from the chaff
A company in our network engages ten Masters of Science (Economics and Business Administration) every year in order to ensure that it constantly has a pool of potential leaders. Reading applications and CVs often leaves you with a picture of a lot of identical candidates. If you have not worked out what skills you need, you will not be able to separate the wheat from the chaff -- and you will not get the right candidates in your fold.

A process to ensure quality and awareness
We have developed a process that reassures you that from the multitude of applications you will be able to identify the candidates who match your skill requirements. The process also ensures that you can interview a lot of candidates and evaluate them in a systematic and valid way. And, just as importantly, the process ensures that the company mentioned above engages ten talents every year who, with few exceptions, end up as leaders in the company.

Of course, the process can also be used to select leaders, specialists or project managers. We will take your special needs into consideration when planning the actual process.
